Inspired by one of Asturias’ most popular dishes, today we prepare chorizo-filled buns. This recipe features a simple, homemade dough that perfectly complements Torre de Núñez mini chorizos, renowned for their flavor and quality.
Ideal for gatherings, snacks, or outdoor excursions, these buns are a tribute to tradition, with the unmistakable flavor of our Galician chorizos.

Chorizo-Filled Buns Ingredients:
- 12 Torre de Núñez mini chorizos
- 500 g bread flour
- 230-250 g water
- 30 g mild olive oil
- 1 egg
- 10 g fresh baker’s yeast (or 3 g dry yeast)
- 1 teaspoon salt

How to make Chorizo-Filled Buns:
- Dissolve the yeast in warm water and add the oil. Add the flour and egg. Mix and knead thoroughly to integrate all ingredients.
- Incorporate the salt and continue kneading for 10-15 minutes until a smooth, homogeneous, non-sticky dough is obtained.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover it with a cotton cloth. Let it rest in a warm place until it doubles in size, for about 2 hours, depending on the temperature.
- Once the dough has risen, deflate it, turn it out onto a work surface, and divide it into 12 equal portions.
- Lightly stretch each portion, place a Torre de Núñez mini chorizo in the center, and close the dough, forming a well-sealed ball.
- Place the chorizo-filled buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and leave them in a warm place to rise again.

Preheat the oven to 200ºC and, while it reaches temperature, brush the buns with a little milk or oil to give them a shine. Bake at mid-height at 200ºC for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Once ready, remove the buns from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack. Your homemade chorizo-filled buns are now ready. Soft, fluffy, and with the delicious flavor of Torre de Núñez chorizo inside. Perfect for sharing as a snack or taking on a picnic – everyone will love them!
